the answers for the movie

by Yeo Wee Kwong and Ng Chia Yi

1 a) the relationship between Catherine and her father is very close. It can be proven by the act of Catherine that taking care of the father who is having mental problem. Besides, she always works together with her father to find out the solution of the mathematics and the mathematics theory.

b) The relationship between Catherine and her sister is bad. It can be seen as they always having tiff between each other. On the other hand, she never helps Catherine to take care of her father. However, she is the one who accompanies and cares about Catherine when she is having mental problem.

2. in my opinion, Catherine is a weak character. As we can see from the movie that her mind is easily affected by the others who claim that the mathematic theory is being done by her father but the fact that the ones who come out with this theory is Catherine. Due to the similar Catherine’s handwriting and her father’s, most of the mathematicians think that Catherine’s father had done this theory. Eventually, Catherine starts to feel depressed and even having mental problem.

3. Catherine thinks that if she could start it over again, she could do it better. This is because she regrets on everything that she has done, she shouldn’t feel depressed and is being easily affected by the others. She could go line by line to find sufficient and strong reasons to prove to everyone that she is capable and is the one who come out with this mathematic theory.

4. Proverb: think twice before you leap. It is useless when we feel regret to what we had done wrongly afterwards. So, to avoid from doing silly and foolish mistakes, we should think carefully before we are making decisions or doing something. When people don’t believe that the mathematic theory is done by her, she feels depressed and even throws all the books to relieve her anger. What she should do is she should try her best to prove to everybody that she is the one who come out with the mathematic theory.
