Have you ever feel that 24 hours a day is not enough for you? Do you ever wish that you can have more hours than that in one day? Sometime you may feel that other people around you had more time than you do but the fact is that you have the 168 hours each week that everyone else has. It actually the way you manage your time that differentiate you with others. In this era, time is a very crucial element especially for students and for those working people. Even though nowadays, a lot of mechanical stuff such as robots and machines have been create to help human being to accelerate their work but still many of us facing the problem related to time.
Equipped yourself with a very good time management is very crucial. Here, there are a few tips that maybe can help you to manage your time effectively.
1. Set your goal
- Your goal may be simple like “ I want to finish the topic tonight” or complex (large) like “ I want to be a dentist in the next five years”. By setting a goal, indirectly, you will be automatically trying to achieve your aim within the time that you have set. This will avoid you from wasting your time as in your mind you have dream or ambition to catch. Most of the people who always wasting their time by delay their work or doing unbeneficial stuff are the people who don’t have goals as their have no destination to go.
- This is the most common way to manage time and it is also a very effective way if you really stick to your timetable. Most people have their own timetable but unfortunately not all of them really follow it. It is depends on yourself to do it or not. Having a little note book or diary in your pocket or beg is also an advisable thing to do. You can take note about every thing that you have to do so that you won’t forget about it later.
3. Don’t delay your work
- This always happen to the students. Most of students like to delay their assignment until the due date. As the time go, their assignment will get more and more and at the moment the have to submit their work, they will feel liked there are not enough time to do it. So, finish your work as soon as you get it to avoid your work from heaps of. And also another thing that most students love to do is to keep the questions that they don’t understand to themselves. They like to gathered the questions from the first topic to the last one and only asked all those questions during the study week where the exam is just around the corner. Please guys! Stop this attitude! This will make you more panicked as in your mind there is still so many topic that you still not cover. You’ll feel liked there is not enough time to finished your study. So, train yourself to immediately asked the lecturer any question that you have in your mind after the lecture and not wait until the exam.
4. Limit your activities
- This also refer to students. Involving yourself in the sports, association, clubs and any outdoors activities is good. But know your ability. If you are the person who can’t manage yourself well in the academic, don’t participate too much in those activity and give more attention to your study. If you are in the critical course, limit your participation as you need to focus more to your academic.
5. Keep a healthy lifestyle
- Having a good lifestyle can indirectly help you to manage your time efficiently. Don’t ever skip meal, exercise regularly, have a good night sleep and avoid smoking or drinking alcohol. All these can avoid you from getting sick. If you are sick, you will not be able to go to class and also can’t do work. Thus, when you recover, you will have to catch back all the topic you have miss and at the moment you will wish that you have more time.
Actually, besides all these tips above, there are many ways that can help you to manage your time. Different individual has different way to cope with the insufficient time problem. It depends on yourself to choose the suitable way for you. Anyway, I hope that these tips can help. Good luck!
